Generic Theater will read Memento Maury by area playwright Luke Palmer as part of its series of play readings at the Players’ Ring. This reading is free and open to the public.
Memento Maury focuses on an act of kindness that gets out of control. To honor a dead college classmate, his friends Victor and Grayson plan a simple memorial reading of his play, The Dream Elephant. They start an online fund-raising campaign, which draws far more interest than they can handle. As the project becomes nightmarish, Victor and Grayson realize they’ve made a big mistake . . . and it’s getting bigger.
Betsy Kimball and Alex Pease are collaborating in leading the sit-down reading; the playwright will be present for discussion. Luke Palmer, who graduated from Emerson College in 2013, helped to produce the short film ‘Advent,’ which screened at the New Hampshire Film Festival.
