Parking Shuttle Extended to November

PortsmouthNH's free downtown parking shuttle will continue to operate thru Nov. 2, city officials have announced. The shuttle, which was started on a trial basis in May, has since transported approximately 13,000 one-way riders between the Connect Community Church parking lot near on Market Street (near I-95's Exit 7) and the Hanover Parking Garage. This fall the shuttle will continue to run afternoons and evenings Thursday thru Sunday. For details, see www.parkportsmouth.com. For a map of parking locations, both free and paid, click here.

New: West End Guide

Portsmouth's West End, aka Islington Street, has seen a explosion of business activity over the past couple years. Once the area was known for Hannaford's supermarket, The Button Factor and few businesses like Tony's Radio and TV. Nowadays it houses more than 100 retail stores, service businesses and small offices, from beer sellers to yoga studios. Recognizing the change, PortsmouthNH.com has added a guide to the neighborhood. See www.portsmouthnh.com/west_end/.
